I also read the NYTimes article yesterday. The history and recent account was shockingly disturbing. It just got worse and worse. I hope there is an answer to “why do bad things happen to good people”?
Perhaps it is a question of historical perspective. For me, it is approaches a test of faith.
Thank you for sharing. I suspect that in the not too distant future we will have a proposal for formal sainthood.
