Wolf of Gubbio Project

For the previous two weeks, I have been chatting with you about an upcoming art project that would speak to the Franciscan character of the parish. Last week, I said that we had found a sculptor who was deeply rooted in the Franciscan tradition and had proposed a work for outdoor placement – a sculpture of St. Francis of Assisi and the Wolf of Gubbio. After all the promises of “next week,” next week has arrived! Please click here to find out more about our project!

  1. Father,

I appreciate your insightful posts! I often reflect on them and integrate your reflections into my Detention Ministry and link to your blog from our Secular Franciscan site (www.slr-ofs.org).

Have you heard about the Gubbio Project in San Francisco? You can read about it at https://www.thegubbioproject.org/

St Boniface parish (whose pastor is also a Franciscan) offers the unhoused in the Tenderloin District a place of respite – or ‘Sacred Sleep.’

    Thanks for your great posts!
